What is an Area Agency on Aging?

Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) are local, publicly funded organizations that connect older adults and their families to services in their community: help understanding Medicare and benefits, meals and nutrition, in-home care and caregiver support, transportation, legal aid, and the long-term care ombudsman. Some also run or refer to free telephone reassurance call programs. They're a free first call for almost any aging question, use the map above to find the agencies serving your state.
