Notification preferences
Dovie checks in on older adults living alone and lets their family ("care circle") know they're okay. If a loved one doesn't confirm a check-in, we alert their family. This page is where a care-circle member chooses how they receive that alert. Email is on by default; a phone call or a text is optional — you can leave them off and still get every alert by email, or turn them on below.
Already have an account? You can set all of this in your Alert Settings after logging in or submit your preferences below.

How opt-in works
Text alerts are always optional and are never required to use Dovie — the missed-check-in alert is always available by email, and turning a call or texts on or off doesn't change that. Text opt-in uses active, unchecked-by-default consent, kept separate from any terms-of-service agreement: the text box is not pre-checked, agreeing is never required to use the service or submit this form, and no text is sent until consent is recorded for that number.
On this page
Leave Phone call and Text message unchecked and Dovie sends your alerts by email only — the form still saves. Check Text message and enter your mobile number to also receive them by text; that checkbox is your consent, and no message is sent until it's recorded.
In your Dovie account
Care-circle members can choose how they're alerted — email, phone call, and/or text — in their account's Alert Settings, and can turn text alerts off at any time there or by replying STOP. The service and sign-up never require text alerts.
Sample messages
- Missed check-in alert: "Dovie: Margaret hasn't confirmed her 9:00 AM check-in and we couldn't reach her. You may want to check on her. Acknowledge: https://app.hellodovie.com/ack/a1b2c3 Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
- Needs-help alert: "Dovie: During her check-in, Margaret signaled she may need help. Please reach out to her. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
Message frequency, rates, and help
- Message frequency: low and event-driven — up to 7 messages per week, and on a normal day none (you're only texted when a check-in is missed).
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Consent to texts is optional — it is not a condition of any purchase or of using Dovie. Missed-check-in alerts are always available by email.
- Reply STOP to any text to opt out at any time; reply HELP for help. You can also turn alerts off in your account or by contacting us at care@hellodovie.com.
