Is Dovie a real person, or AI?
Dovie is an AI voice companion. She has a warm, natural conversation, listens, and adapts, and she is always honest that she is a virtual assistant, not a nurse, doctor, or family member. She is not a person and never pretends to be one.
Does my loved one need a smartphone?
No. Dovie works on any phone, a landline, a basic cell phone, or a smartphone. They use whatever they already have, and there is no app to download. They just answer and talk.
Can they check in by text or by phone call?
Both. You can choose a daily text, an AI voice call, or both, with a call as backup if a text goes unanswered. On a call, Dovie has a real conversation, and your loved one simply answers and talks.
What does my family get after each call?
Every call produces an outcome. Dovie tells your care circle whether your loved one is okay, how they sounded, and a short, warm summary of how the call went. You get a real answer, not just a dial tone.
What can Dovie do on a call?
You choose. Dovie can run a daily wellbeing check, give a medication reminder, or make a friendly social call. When you turn them on, she can also share the real local weather and play a gentle joke, fun fact, or quick game, personalized to your loved one.
What happens in an emergency?
Dovie is not an emergency service and does not contact 911, the police, or any responder for you. If she senses a fall, distress, or a request for help, she alerts your whole care circle right away so someone can act, and encourages your loved one to get help. She never gives medical advice. For any emergency, always call your local emergency number.
What happens if they don’t respond?
If there’s no response, Dovie tries again a few times before doing anything else, so a missed message doesn’t become a false alarm. If they still haven’t responded, your care circle is alerted right away so someone can follow up.
Who is the care circle?
The care circle is the small group of family, friends, or caregivers you choose to keep in the loop. Everyone in it can receive the daily confirmation and any alerts, so the responsibility is shared. Learn more in our guide to the care circle.
How much does it cost?
Dovie starts free: your first 3 calls and 15 minutes of call time, with unlimited texts and no card required. Paid plans are $12/month (Base) and $24/month (Premium), or save two months with annual billing. See our pricing page for full details.

Can I pause it for travel or a hospital stay?
Yes. You can pause check-ins anytime, for a trip, a hospital stay, or a week with family, and resume whenever you like.
Is Dovie a medical alert or emergency service?
No. Dovie is a daily wellness companion, not a medical-alert device or a 911 replacement, and she never gives medical advice or contacts emergency services for you. She helps your family stay close and notice quickly when something seems off. For a medical emergency, always call your local emergency number.
