Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Two 15 Ventures, LLC, the company that operates the Dovie service at hellodovie.com ("Dovie," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with our website, our mobile and web application, and our daily check-in service by text message and phone call (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Who this Policy covers
The Service involves several types of people:
- Account holders: the family member, caregiver, or individual ("you") who creates an account, configures check-ins, and pays.
- Loved ones: the older adult who receives daily check-in texts or calls.
- Care circle members: the people you designate to be notified about a loved one's check-ins.
This Policy applies to all of them.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: your name, email address, phone number, and password.
- Loved one and care circle information: names, phone numbers, email addresses, time zone, and relationship, plus check-in schedules, message preferences, and any notes you choose to add (which may include medication reminders).
- Consent records: records of opt-in consent to receive text messages and calls, including how and when consent was given.
- Check-in content: responses to check-ins (such as a "YES" reply or a key press), timestamps, and delivery status.
- Payment information: processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Communications: messages you send us for support or inquiries.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and interactions with the Service.
- Cookies and similar technologies: used to operate the site, remember preferences, and measure usage (see Section 7).
- Communications metadata: delivery, status, and timing information for texts and calls, provided by our communications provider.
3. How we use your information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including scheduling and sending daily check-in texts and calls and notifying the care circle.
- To create and manage your account, trial, and subscription, and to process payments.
- To respond to your questions and provide customer support.
- To send you service-related communications (for example, account, billing, and security notices).
- To improve, personalize, and develop the Service.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security, or technical issues.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Text messages and phone calls (your consent)
The Service works by sending daily check-in text messages (SMS/MMS) and placing automated phone calls to the loved one being checked in on, and by sending notifications to care circle members. These messages and calls are delivered through our communications provider, Twilio.
We send check-in texts and calls only after the recipient, or a person authorized to provide consent on their behalf, has expressly opted in. We obtain prior express consent before any message or call is sent, and we do not message or call anyone who has not opted in. When you add a loved one or care circle member, you confirm that you have their permission to enroll their phone number.
- By opting in, the recipient agrees to receive recurring automated check-in and notification messages and/or calls at the number provided.
- Message frequency depends on the check-in schedule you set (for example, once or twice per day).
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Consent is not a condition of purchase of any product or service.
- To stop messages, reply STOP to any text at any time; reply HELP for help. Recipients can also opt out by telling us during a call or by contacting us at care@hellodovie.com. After opt-out, we will stop sending check-in texts and calls to that number.
We do not share your mobile opt-in information or phone number with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Phone numbers and consent data are used only to operate the Service.
5. How we share information
We share information only as described here:
- With your care circle, by design: the people you add will receive check-in confirmations and alerts about the loved one, as you configure.
- With service providers who process data on our behalf, such as Twilio (messaging and calls), Stripe (payments), our hosting and email providers, and analytics providers. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- For legal reasons: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Dovie, our users, or others.
- In a business transfer: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes (such as consent records, billing, and dispute resolution). When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, and understand usage. We may use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) that set their own cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights and choices
- You can review and update your account information at any time.
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting us at care@hellodovie.com.
- You can opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link, and opt out of texts and calls as described in Section 4.
- Depending on where you live (for example, California and certain other U.S. states), you may have additional rights to access, delete, correct, or limit the use of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
10. Health-related information
Dovie is a wellness check-in service, not a healthcare provider. Features such as medication reminders are simple prompts you choose to set up; we do not create or maintain clinical or medical records, and the Service is not intended to store detailed health information. Dovie is not a HIPAA-covered entity.
11. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
12. Where we operate
The Service is operated in the United States and intended for users in the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you understand your information will be processed in the United States.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
